Brennan from Moth Electric sat down to have a little chat:
Q: What was your first encounter with guitar and/or pedals?
A: Started playing around age ten, was gifted a DS-1 shortly after and immediately dimed it through my terrible practice amp. I thought it was the coolest thing in the world.
A: I got into modding pretty quickly and always serviced my own gear, but didn't get into building seriously until I started working for pedal companies.
Q: When did you design your first pedal?
A: I've had parts of designs floating around for many years but the P. isabella was the first I saw through to the end. Finished dev on it in 2022.
Q: What do you do for a living?
A: I was the production manager at one of the bigger "boutique" pedal companies for years before going out on my own. Moth Electric is now my full time job.
Q: Any long term goals?
A: The next few years will be about scaling and expanding my offerings. Modulation will have a big part to play in the next year. Long term I'd like to expand into studio equipment and rack mounted stuff.
Q: Any other hobbies besides music?
A: Too many to list. My life is totally consumed by countless dumb hobbies.
Q: Pets?:
A: I wish. My apartment has turned into a factory so it's not very pet friendly at the moment. Absolutely when Moth Electric gets its own space.
